Wow! What a close game!

The Cosmic Wimpout software I have on my Palm allows you to take 10
points in this situation.

You have to clear 10s. So using a * as a 10 would not be appropriate
in my mind.

You're right!! If Paul took the * as 10, that would force a
clear-flash reroll, not a stopping point. So if Paul wants the roll
to score, he has to take the * as a 5.

Do we go on, or is the game over at 13 ?
No, we just add columns as needed. You may need to delete the early
colums so that each line of the board stays under 80 characters.

When we get to Last Licks, the colums become LL1, LL2, etc. Remember,
everyone completes the current round before last licks begins. Think
of it as everyone rolls at the same time, so there is no "stop round X
and start last licks" in the middle of a round. The same is true for
rolling Last Licks: everyone (except the leader going into the round)
rolls and posts their totals, then we determine the new leader and do
the next round. Only the leader's score at the start of the round
needs to be beat, not any in-round totals.

For example: if my total in round 13 is over 500, then once everyone
has completed their round 13 turn, everyone but me tries to beat my
total. If Paul is the leader at the end of LL1, then everyone but
Paul tries to beat Paul's total. This means that in LL1, if I had 525
(the total to beat), Paul rolls 550, and then you rolls 530, both of
you continue into LL2 along with me (and anyone else who scores more
than 525 during LL1). You do NOT need to beat Paul's total in LL1,
only mine. In LL2, then both of us would have to beat 550, assuming
Paul was the leader at the end of LL1.

Roll 2: 3 10 [10] Total: 30

STOP! That puts me in second place. VERY close game now.

The Palm program I have would also allow the * in my last roll to be
scored as a 10. However, that is patently against the rules, and is
a bug in the logic path. Besides, I use my origional 1st edition, and
highly mismatched, wimpout dice set.

6 4 5 2 2 [5/5]
6 6 6 4 [60/65]
5 [5/70]
4 4 2 5 4 [45/115]
4 [*/115] Reroll
5 [5/120] Ha!
2 6 3 4 2 [0] Major WIMPOUT!

I liked the LL1 - LL2 example, but with rolls like this, using my
name appears to have been a major editorial error.

I appear to be a few rounds behind (not to mention a few hundred
points). Let's see if I can rectify that:

Round 12:

2 [2] 4 10 10 (20/20)
[2] 4 5 ( 5/25, stop)

Round 13:

2 4 4 [4] 5 (45/45, clear 4s on 1 die)
6 (WO)

Round 14:

3 4 4 6 [*] (40/40, clear 4s on 2 dice)
3 6 (WO)

I seem to have discovered how to roll flashes again. Now I just need
to work on clearing them...

It seams to be up to me to make sure this is not a non-scoring round.
So here goes!

Roll 1: 2 3 [4] 5 10 Total: 15

Roll 2: 3 5 [*] Total: 20

Roll 3: 3 [*] Total: 30

Okay, I get the hint! STOP!!

For the first time this game, I have the lead. Not much of a lead, and
Dylan can still surprise everyone with a freight train next round to
catch up or suddenly force the game into last licks.
